Ala, Trentino (IT)
Infiorescenze is a non profit organisation that develops projects and practices in the field of territorial regeneration, cultural production and social innovation. It operates in Trentino in “Bassa Vallagarina” between the urban area of Ala and the rural area of Lessinia but it moves in different territories promoting “supra-local” collaborations and trans-regional cooperation.
It was funded in 2019 by a group of people coming from the fields of architecture, history of art, management of cultural heritage, art and rural economies with the aim of creating projects that would promote culture and participation as means to socially and economically develop communities and territories (both urban and rural). Since then Infiorescenze opened (and closed) a cultural community space in Ala called “La Piazzetta” (2019) and created “La Piazzetta OFF”, an itinerant creative space for youth between Ala and Mori (2020-2021); it promoted the re-appropriation of Ala’s public spaces through cultural activities and participative practices with “Experimenta!” (ongoing), and worked in the mountain territory of Lessinia with the project of territorial narration “MOU - tales from the shared mountain” (2020) and the program of cultural activations “Summer in Lessinia” (ongoing).
Infiorescenze has been financing itself mainly through grants and public fundings. Even if legally it is an “association” with an “executive board” and an “assembly of members”, the organisation doesn’t work following a gerarchic approach but rather an operative approach based on small teams that work on different projects valorising and merging competencies.
